The semester is ending, finals are here, papers are due. And all I have to say is…bout time. It’s been a long couple months. Looking forward to a little break from school. Welcome to any new visitors.
Random thoughts, starting now…
- Ndelible’s show at Bohemian was quite fun.
- I am in love with the Roland Sonic Cell…I know I’m a music geek (and geek in general), but this thing really has changed my musical horizons. It has 1000 sounds!!! I can hook it up to my sax or midi keyboard…has been the cause of a lot of procrastination.
Obama’s speech accepting his Nobel Peace Prize was epic. He acknowledged the duality present in a war-time president getting a peace prize, spoke about the world’s yearning for a practical peace…I really dug it. Shoot, even Sarah Palin liked it…that’s talent. If you wanna watch it, check it out yonder. Bit long, but definitely worth a listen. I think it’s gonna be one of those speeches kids are required to listen to in about 20 years.- Earlier this week I got a chance to meet one of my favorite musicians/singers — Raphael Saadiq. He was in Bmore at Rams Head…gave a ridiculous performance. Live music is alive and well. Thanks again to Bookie Book for the hook up!
- Edit — last thing, just saw a great interview with one of my favorite emcees, Mos Def. He speaks on his creative process, his epic new work The Ecstatic, as well as some BlackStar reunion’age!!!
